OUR TEAM

We look forward to seeing you in the St. Barbara´s Cathedral and the information center.
We will do our best to make you feel comfortable here and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of the cathedral.
A few words about us will hopefully assure you that you are in good hands.

Aneta

She likes when the groups are interested in the presentation, she likes to enrich people. She was enchanted with the ceiling vault, stone reliefs lining and separating the presbyterium from the gallery chapels where each decoration is different. She admires the cathedral´s uniqueness. It was mainly built for the burghers and unlike other structures it is decorated with the depictions from ordinary life.

Kristýna

Her favorite is the angel in the chapel of Saint Catherine. She likes to accompany her friends on a lady trip, whereas they like arts, architecture and are keen on learning something new. She will show you various rarities: small baroque organ, phoenix, symbolizing the Resurrection of Christ, a pelican, a lion with the young or the little green men.

Dáša

She was born in Kutná Hora and introduced to the town history by her grandmother. She loves to walk through the historic street. She thinks the cathedral is beautiful and amazing as a whole, she sees it as an energetic, magical and beautiful spiritual town during anytime of the day and every season. The biggest gift for her is when people leaving the cathedral say they would love to come back.

Vladimír

His work as a guide was inspired by his interest in history and arts. His favorite activity is to guide smaller groups with genuine interest in the presentation. He used to like the fresco from Jan Karel Kovář depicting the turning of Saint Ignatius. Now his favorite are gothic frescoes in the gallery chapels, especially the picture of the Calvary in the Hašplířská Chapel.

Jaroslava

She spent the entire childhood going to the cathedral with her family for Sunday masses and the biggest memories go back to the organ tones. During the singing of prayers, she used to feel as if they were accompanied by angels. During high school she had a temporary job in the cathedral as a guide. She likes the moment when the sun shines through the stained glass in the matroneum.

Dana

She is always amazed by the height of the inner space as well as by the cathedral´s overall inner decoration. Her favorite place is the nave, the cathedral´s center and benches with original side decorations. In the information center she receives funny questions not relating with the church at all: “What is the smoke in the horizon?” (Chvaletice power station), “Is there snow in winter?” (A question posed by a foreigner)…

Pavlína

Her first time in the St. Barbara´s Cathedral was with her summer camp. They were accompanied by an older man who was keen on telling them funny stories about the cathedral. She still remembers his words: “What do you see? Do you see marble? That is not marble, that is a lime tree!” and knocked on the confessional booth with his finger. Pavlína gives tips to the visitors for trips and walks around Kutná Hora, perhaps to the Great Pond.
